Innovation, Google, and More!

This week we talked about innovation and how it is the successful use of new ideas in an organization. Every time I think of innovation, Google always comes to mind. Whether its the search engine, Google Docs, or any of the plethora of applications offered, Google has changed the face of technology and the Internet. One thing, however, that really makes me angry about Google is the Google Books feature. Several times in my college career there have been books on Google that would have helped me answer that last problem on the problem set, but what always happens? XX-XX pages are omitted from this preview.

Using the intersection for creativity, would it be cool if there was a Google Library. It would be an intersection of technology (Google), established institutions(library) and academics (books). Instead of only have options to preview or buy books, users could pay an annual fee (similar to fee for library card) to check out books online. So, for those procrastinators such as myself who forget to check out books, they will now have an alternative in which they won't even have to leave their room. You could even expand this idea into other businesses, such as movie and music media.

The only issue is I'm not sure how the online check in/ check out process would work.
